master of theology

encountering the apophatic in Hegel, very persuaded by his hesitance to enumerate particulars of the Divine. the Spirit travels in a circuit, evidently. often objects are completing their own definitions, i.e. "thought thinking about itself."

all very interesting, my previous experience with Hegel detailed the aesthetic - or just Art - and Hegel understands it as the third most effective device to communicate the Absolute, only behind Religion and Philosophy, respectively.

this is very reassuring to me, for these are exactly the three areas to which i am most drawn. i anticipate socially-correct colleagues to point out that the supersessionist construction is not only inconsistent but dated, as Hegel seems to have privileged the Greek yet demoted the Jew. no matter.

christianity is not special in its metaphysics, it is arbitrary and game-like.

whenever i become frustrated with the thing i remember that it is being presented to me mostly in formulas, or in some colorful brochure committed to dispensing justice. i remember that as a refined narcissist, the world exists for me to enjoy.

the element of christianity i most enjoy is its portrayal in film and literature. to appreciate those modes one must accure a bit of experience though, but not religious experience, just the witness of an executed vision, a masterpiece unto itself without the amendments of a thousand tiny voices yelling pieces of splintered scripture as if the whole was always too much for them.

of whom should i be afraid

>>>

my light and my salvation,
my darkness and tribulation,
all free fall in adulation
of whom should i be afraid?

emptied of pennies or
absent my body in full-
working motion
whom shall i fear?

I believe I shall see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living.

Argument from Creations

It's the same as starting a sentence with "It."
A pause - inside flowered jargons - it provides relief.
In poetry it works too - evidenced -

Systems aside, it crawls from something - bastard -
Origins do not begin - in the present-tense -
"It is undeniable God is evident in nature."

presumptive bent - what is?
An it needs a first noun, de-proed.
And it seeds in nothing - can't grow -

And nature forgets
Language, the true God -
validates it -

Your chatter - chatter
I hate chatter and grammatical-errors, gossipy-slang slung
around dangling participles as if

you've never heard God speak.
As if blasphemy excludes the semi-colon - while -
that damn commandment - "in vain" - it is

humane to speak anything, to speak something
or - circles - around it -
says nothing - about it -

prayer for forgiveness. (5&2)

oh god i replaced
the clean
to be more like you
and god
i displaced loose things
for love.
common people do
not stop
speaking, oh god i
never
ask why you seized my
fervor
and substituted
textile.
revised commitment
won’t soothe
growing fires i see
as just
static. ecstatic
to be
alive but greeting
some death.

when i turned five years
old, two
demons in the form
of sage
whispered eternal
cycles.
since then all i’ve done
is lie.

together that’s a seven.
sevens
multiply.

Genesis 1:1-31. A Translation

6. it was good (the fluid emptiness of form, the swift-flowing darkness, the longing of day for night and night for day, their ephemeral froth fused as electric sex of dawn and dusk)

5. it was good (the shell of soil, the transparent lifeblood, the ubiquitous musk of infinite sky they fling spiraling, smoking promises, hopes, fears, panged sobs)

4. it was good (the ossified crunch of earth, the calm and hysteric sea, the vegetation damned to wither and die, wither and die as roots grow stiff in reason, hardened by season)

3. it was good (the scattering of eyelet lights, the subtle winter frost, the dissection of light, dark, spell and position into a cycling mirror of feigned lucidity)

2. it was good (the soaring spread of wings, the underwater cities, the particles of flesh and flavor made matter as ourselves, to finally puncture an everlasting peach-armor)

1. it was good (the wandering woman hesitates in front of crumbling plateaus, locked-in dreamy and dead. silently she whispers, “a moment of clarity.” she laughs.)

it was all very good, and it was all very sad.
