Wish I could pick out more samples from The Field, but I've only been able to discern a couple on account of how chopped-up they turn out after Axel Willner subjects them to a -finally- cathartic cut-and-paste regiment.
Anyway, here's the cut:
From 6:40-7:10 or so you should be able to hear:
Yes, Aquarela do Brasil by Ary Barroso. I have included the Geoff Muldaur version here, because it is creepy - and pretty much the only piece of music used in Terry Gilliam's Brazil (1985) - one of my favorite films. 0:05-0:10 is the clearest place you can hear The Field totally rip off the riff and make it into something equally good.
As an aside, The Field is techno music that I think nearly everyone could enjoy. Listen to it while drawing.

Review of Girl Talk "All Day" (2010)
>>>
Theoretically, if you like most of the artists on this list, then you should like this entire album because the sum is greater than the parts. I like almost all of the artists on this list. I even starred the items that I have in my itunes. I listened to the album once and noted the samples I could recall without much effort. The album sucks, by the way. The best part is the Aphex Twin/Gaga/Soulja Boy mashup in track 7, because Richard D. James is timeless and his music makes whatever superimposed pop vocal trying to suffocate it wanna fuck him instead. I liked a lot of songs on the 11th track, but they sound horrible all crushed together.
I had to wait all the way to the end to get Gucci Mane, an artist whose monotone vocal style would seem to lend itself perfectly to mashing up; for some reason I had to endure two contributions from Eric Clapton and about a billion from Jay-Z and M.I.A.; a long roster of predictible 80s radio pop songs bored me; and overall the hour it took to listen to the album was one filled with tension.
Yep, sounds like 2006 trying to mash itself into the next decade. Sorry, 2006. In 2010, remixed hip-hop makes Gucci Mane sound like this: (picks up around 0:53 - just wait)
Unimpressed? - this is the Gucci track from whence that remix spawned:
I mean, I'm not crazy for affirming the first example is superior to the second in every fucking possible way, am I? Come on, GT. This is what people are doing now. Evolve or something.
At least you don't have to pay for it. Download "All Day" for free here.

Lena 3: in which Lena Sucks the Life out of Herself
Lena had made no conscious decision to quit her dozens of lovers, but inevitably it happened. She had been enjoying the company of two men (one Irish, one Scottish, she could hardly tell them apart) when a man from the deep deep south was unexpectedly introduced to her. She found him interesting only because everyone else seemed to find him interesting.
Lena was used to leaving men and in fact a man had never left her before. Thus she expected the same to happen, for her to see this man from the deep deep south for several days or weeks and then leave him. But everytime Lena thought she would leave him he left her.
"I know we will say goodbye to each other many more times," she said at the first time she said goodbye to him. She was right and she still is right.
Lena forgot about other men because she wondered about this one. Instead of growing duller he grew more fascinating. He smelled better to her each day. He had a favorite flower. They agreed on fetishes. He had the perfect width of cock.
But as I said before he was always leaving her. He went back to the deep deep south and also went to the arms of other women. Some women were real and some women Lena imagined were real. Lena imagined many women and somehow this made the man even more attractive to her.
Lena lost weight and cut off her hair. She felt her skin go rough so she cut into it with razors. She felt her eyes dry and tough and wanted to cut them with razors too. The less Lena cared about other men the more they flocked to her. The less Lena cared about her body the more men flocked to her.
A flock of silly birds shitting and squawking all around her.
The more she loved him the more she hated herself. "I hate myself because I am no longer myself," she thought.
Her thoughts went faster and less complete. Faster and less complete. Fast and less. She became less and less. She didn't even want to read this story anymore.
Lena was at her least when she met a woman whose named sounded like Advice.

What Happened This Time
Street-parked my shining silver Lexus SUV. Forgot which one it was. Thankfully the mother and children also leaving the mess pointed it out to me.
"Where are you going?" she asked me.
"To find a mountain to jump off it."
Not wanting to annunciate any suicidal tendencies I motioned to the hang glider in the passenger side.
"Oh, that's something you would do," she responded with an awkward smile, stressing the "would."
Climbed in the car. Astonished to find I had parked facing the wrong direction, thus my SUV faced the bullets of heavy oncoming traffic.
"I will turn around in this nursing home parking lot," I decided.
Parking lots textured more textured than I remember, but manuevering that car wasn't difficult. As I exited I felt the softest touch I've ever felt on my forearm from the passenger.
I jumped in my seat because I hadn't been transporting a passenger.
"You?!"
It was, it was me. A beautiful copy.
"You must be a hallucination," she said.
"A friend!" she said.
I had already decided I was real and she the hallucination, but then again we weren't in the car anymore and the spatial qualifiers of "driver" and "passenger" ceased to help me organize myself.
What was I concerned about? I must have been someone else as I tried to seduce her. Immediately rejected I thought of a new plan.
"No one is going to think you're real! They will see me talking to you and it will just be like I'm talking to myself."
We sat among a group of friends (I guess they were friends) as I talked to myself. "Can you see her?" I yelled. "It's another me!"
No one said anything.

Should Have Used a Stricture
structures are strictures.
One particular stricture
fixes the allure of lunar
circuit internally, in an
ending sky. The structure
of the sky is red, its
stricture is cell. The
structure of the cell is
single, its stricture is
ahead. Another cell single
in the red sky ahead. To
double the structure cancels
the stricture. To cancel
the stricture requires another
hand, a frigid nozzle today but
a baby tomorrow. A whirring
electric buzz(saw) today and
bundled joy tomorrow. Either
violates the structure and
lifts the stricture. Either
the moon will grow full
again or I won't either.

watery deserter
salient rides of car.
carrides.
The air thickened with presence, with promise
and pot; each mile thins lush space,
infertilizing time as if the extra seconds would
change anything.
If anything,
they just change just one thing:
the delay of
saturation, pink and smiling last night.
Today: salted, rolling.

“How Much Can One Fuck-Up Do For Another Fuck-Up?”
for A.V.
A solution to absolutes. A cherished
equation: one and one, two together.
retracing lines of standard-route
but how about –
two apart, three together.
Two’s a start, but three’s much better.
Or four, for means of further
precision? One me for one;
one me for two. Together we constitute
((((The Quasi-Group))))
Respective to x where x equals time
our figures increase from four to five.
Six for the split, seven with y,
the drunken jump from eight to nine.
Ten for each digit I wrap around his…
– wait.
Redundant to elate. I’m counting
so high; it started at one.
. . . . . . . . . .
the splits were rough, the sex was wrought.
and alone I am.
but alone I’m not.
